Job Posting for Director of Development

The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter’s North American District seeks a dynamic and experienced Director of Development to provide strategic vision and leadership in overseeing and strengthening a comprehensive fundraising program for the organization.

The mission of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter is to respond to the Holy Father’s initiative through an active apostolate in service to the Church.  The Fraternity’s primary focus is on the formation and sanctification of its priests centered in their charism to offer the Latin (Tridentine) Mass, or the extraordinary form of the liturgy.  The Fraternity administers the sacraments according to the disposition of the motu proprio “Ecclesia Dei” given by Pope John Paul II and more recently fortified by Pope Benedict XVI in last year’s motu proprio “Summorum Pontificum.” The Fraternity’s North American District currently offers public Mass in over fifty locations in North America and also operates a house of formation, Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton, NE (Diocese of Lincoln).  For more information on the North American District of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter, please visit www.fssp.com.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Development will work in collaboration with senior staff, the Board of Advisors, and a team of Fraternity priests who assist as major gift solicitors; develop and provide strategic direction for a comprehensive fundraising program to further the Fraternity's mission; and oversee the completion of a $5 million capital campaign.  This individual will have experience in overseeing all aspects of a development operation and demonstrate the ability to manage a small staff.

Past experiences should include direct mail fundraising, successful solicitation of major gifts, donor stewardship, public relations, and the ability to develop new and creative approaches to increase giving. The ideal candidate will possess proven leadership, management, and organizational skills, as well as energy, enthusiasm, professionalism and drive. Applicant must be practicing Catholic.  Bachelor's degree required.  Periodic national travel is necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.  The salary is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive benefits package.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume by mail to Father Neal Nichols, Director of Development, The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter, North American District, St. Peter’s House, Griffin Road P.O. Box 196, Elmhurst, PA 18416 or by e-mail to development@fssp.com by May 30, 2008.
